BBC wins in 4 out of 5 categories at the Sandford St Martin Trust Awards

The winners of the 2022 Sandford St Martin Trust Awards, which promote excellence in religious broadcasting, were announced last night with BBC programmes taking home four awards. A total of 20 BBC programmes were nominated and three programmes were also recognised in the Runners-Up categories.

Charlotte Moore, Chief Content Officer says: “These awards demonstrate our commitment to religious broadcasting and to exploring themes of faith, ethics and spirituality across the breadth of our content. I’m delighted for all the winners who were recognised last night, huge congratulations to them.”

TV/ Video Award – Brotherhood: The Inner Life of Monks – Intrepid Media Ltd for BBC Four
Journalism Award – Panorama: Is the Church Racist? – BBC Panorama for BBC One
Young Audience Award – This Girl’s Changed – ClockWork Films for BBC Three
Radio Times’ Readers Award: Time by Jimmy McGovern - BBC Studios for BBC One

Young Audience Award - What’s on Your Head – Gold Wala for CBeebies
Radio Audio – Things Fell Apart with Jon Ronson – BBC Audio for BBC Radio 4
Journalism - Pope Francis in Iraq: the Historic Pilgrimage - BBC Audio: Heart and Soul for BBC World Service
