New Commissioning Editors and Head of Development announced by BBC Drama

Director of BBC Drama Lindsay Salt has today announced three new appointees to the BBC Drama commissioning team. Danielle Scott-Haughton and Nick Lambon join as Commissioning Editors for BBC Drama, while Sami El-Hadi will be BBC Drama’s new Head of Development

Danielle Scott-Haughton joins the BBC from Balloon Entertainment where she has worked for the past seven years, most recently as Development Executive for scripted television and as Executive Producer on Champion, the forthcoming musical drama series for BBC One and iPlayer from bestselling author Candice Carty-Williams.

Nick Lambon has worked across a range of scripted titles, with previous credits including Script Editor on multiple series of Doctor Who and DCI Banks, Assistant Producer on series one of Sanditon, and more recently as Script Producer and then Producer on the BBC’s Silent Witness, and as Producer on series two of Channel 4’s Screw. Nick will lead on commissions from Northern Ireland as part of his role as Commissioning Editor.

Head of Development Sami El-Hadi joins the BBC from production company The Forge, where he was Development Executive. Sami was previously at Working Title, where he worked as script executive on titles including Channel 4’s BAFTA winning We Are Lady Parts and the BBC’s Everything I Know About Love.

“Sami has cut his creative teeth on genre-defining shows. His natural forward-thinking instinct, thoughtful manner and excellent taste makes him a great new asset for our top team.”

Nick Lambon says: “I can’t wait to join the BBC Drama team later this year. I’m delighted by the opportunity to expand on their incredible track-record for gripping and surprising storytelling.”

Danielle and Sami have recently started in their roles, while Nick will join the BBC in the coming months.
