27 year old Ryan, works as a fire and security engineer. He lives in Wigan with his fiancé and two children.

How would you describe your style of cooking?

I love making something out of nothing, I hate food going to waste so i’ll always try and come up with a decent dish for the whole family from few ingredients. I love taking quite classical and traditional recipe and adding in my own bit of Northern flair.

What is your earliest cooking memory?

I have no idea how old I was but I remember baking with my mum from a really young age. As I got older I started watching lots of cooking shows on tv and that’s when my interest really sparked. I remember coming home from school and watching MasterChef and now to be taking part is so strange!

Why did you enter MasterChef?

My partner gave me the push to enter, she’s a massive support for me and always tells me my food is really good so I just thought why not.

What is your food dream?

I’d love to have my own food truck or be a chef in great restaurant. I love chefs like Gordon Ramsay and Tom Kerridge and take lots of inspiration from them, so working in the same industry as them would be amazing.
