Published: October 15, 2024 -- Off the back of his heroic Ultramarathon challenge with BBC Radio 2, which raised over £6 million for last year’s Appeal, Vernon Kay is set to join the presenting line up for BBC Children in Need 2024 alongside Rochelle Humes, who returns to hosting duties for the first time since 2019.

As announced on The One Show, Vernon Kay and Rochelle Humes will be joining this year’s line up alongside Ade Adepitan MBE, Mel Giedroyc, Chris Ramsey and Lenny Rush. The six will be live on BBC One and iPlayer from MediaCityUK, Salford, at 7pm on Friday 15 November 2024 to take viewers through a sparkling evening of fun and fundraising.

Vernon Kay says “I’m truly honoured to be a presenter for BBC Children in Need this year, supporting such an incredible cause. Last year's knee-ruining run from Leicester to Bolton was brutal, one of the toughest things I’ve ever done, so I’m thrilled to be joining you from the comfort of MediaCity this time! Children in Need is such a special charity, changing lives in the most amazing ways, and I couldn’t be prouder to be part of this year’s big night!”.

Rochelle Humes says “Nothing brings the UK together quite like BBC Children in Need and I’m so delighted to be back in the studio this year. I’m always blown away by the generosity and spirit of the night, and it’s a wonderful cause so close to my heart. I’m sure there will be many laughs, tears, surprises and a whole heap of inspiration in store for us all on the night”.

Ade Adepitan MBE says “I am beyond excited to be back as a presenter for BBC Children in Need. It's such an important cause to raise money for children and young people across the UK that need support. The three-hour extravaganza promises to dazzle the nation whilst raising life-changing funds for children and young people across the UK. The need has never been greater as right now the charity is only able to fund 1 in 8 of the organisations who ask for money.

The fabulous hosts will lead an unforgettable evening filled with star-studded sketches, sensational musical acts, show-stopping performances and plenty of surprises from some of the UK’s most loved celebrities. Further details will be revealed in due course.

Money raised during the 2024 appeal will help BBC Children in Need to continue working in communities across the four nations, funding amazing people in family centres, community spaces, youth clubs and refuges; homeless shelters, hospices and helplines. This year, BBC Children in Need is asking the public to make life lighter for children all across the UK.

Throughout the night, appeal films will feature some of the children and young people whose lives have been changed through the support of BBC Children in Need, and the project workers who work tirelessly to help them.
