Published: March 12, 2024 -- The BBC's highly anticipated third series will arrive on BBC iPlayer and BBC One from Friday 28 March 2025.

As previously announced, the new series features a stellar line up of guest stars including Hugh Dennis and Caroline Quentin.

The team faces a host of baffling cases in the upcoming series, including a body discovered in a river on the county border, a perplexing chocolate box poisoning, a long-standing farming feud, and a spiking incident at sea. Away from the police station, Martha and Humphrey must overcome unexpected hurdles as foster parents, while the reappearance of Martha’s old flame Archie presents an unexpected challenge.

Meanwhile, Esther experiences a surprising twist in her personal life, Anne confronts painful memories following a health scare, and Kelby embarks on a transformative journey of self-discovery.

The show, made for the BBC by Red Planet Pictures in a co-commission with BritBox International, was the UK’s most-watched new drama of 2023, with the most recent series drawing an impressive average of nearly 7 million viewers, solidifying its place as one of the BBC’s top dramas of 2024.
