BBC Two has commissioned a second series of Interior Design Masters from DSP.

The second series of the hit show will be hosted by TV presenter and comedian Alan Carr, who will be joined by former Editor-in-Chief of ELLE Decoration magazine, Michelle Ogundehin. Michelle reprises her role as Head Judge and will enlist the help of design gurus and industry experts as specialist guest judges each week.

The eight-part series will see ten talented, up and coming designers tackle a range of design challenges and compete to win a life-changing design contract with a prestigious commercial client.

Alan Carr says: “I just can’t wait to get started on this. I’m such a huge fan of interior design and I’m chomping at the bit to see what these wonderfully creative people have in store for us.”

Series judge and internationally renowned interiors expert, Michelle Ogundehin, says: “I’m thrilled to be back for a second series to discover even more untapped design talent for Interior Design Masters. We had so many brilliant and exciting designs and designers on series one that I can’t wait to get going and see what the next cohort has to offer!”

Donna Clark, Managing Director of DSP, says: “We’re absolutely thrilled to be welcoming the wonderful Alan Carr to the Interior Design Masters fold. His wit and enthusiasm will definitely bring a dose of sparkle to the series and we can’t wait to see him take the helm.”

Commissioning Editor, Clare Mottershead, says: “Interior Design Masters proved a real treat for our audiences last year and we’re delighted to be embarking on series two with another real treat, Alan Carr, on the team. We’re looking forward to plenty of inspirational and ambitious interiors.”

Over eight episodes, each week a different guest judge will share their expertise to help Michelle evaluate which team of budding designers has achieved the best design and who will be leaving the competition that week.

The teams of blossoming designers will be confronted with a new commercial space to transform each week as they attempt to impress the judges ranging from shops to offices, show homes and restaurants.

Working to tight deadlines, the teams will be put to the test throughout the competition as they’re judged on their creative skills as designers, as well as their ability to manage a project from the initial planning to execution. The designers will need to work together, to enable them to remain in the competition and have a chance of scooping the prize.

Interior Design Masters, an 8x60’ series for BBC Two, was commissioned by Patrick Holland, Controller BBC Two and Catherine Catton, BBC Head of Commissioning Popular Factual & Factual Entertainment. It will be executive produced by Donna Clark and Claire Walls for DSP. The Commissioning Editor is Clare Mottershead.
