Greg, 35, is Head Coach at Rathbone and Camden Boxing Club. He credits training, discipline and community in turning his life around. He started boxing at 12 and by the time he was 16 was boxing at Lynn AC ABC, before taking his amateur boxing career to the US.

Injury lead Greg into coaching, where he found his calling. He soon realised the rewards outweighed competing for him. Over the last 17 years, Greg has worked his way through the boxing scene to become head coach at the renowned Rathbone Boxing Club, working with professional boxing coach, Adam Booth’s stable of boxers.

Greg’s "train hard, fight easy" style has given him a well-earned reputation. Greg can relate directly to the boxing students after finding himself in the past, in some of the same places they face today.

How did you become involved in boxing?

I joined my local boxing club to keep out of trouble with the police, and it really installed the focus and discipline I needed at the time. Boxing for me was life-changing. I met some really influential people through boxing and that has helped shape my life today.

What would say to someone watching this series who wants to make a change in their life?

Find a sport! It doesn’t have to be boxing. You’ll find that sports clubs are a great way to really help you physically, mentally, emotionally. You’ll learn all the key elements you need in life, including discipline, focus and determination.
