Comedy fans get twice the laughs with Inside... companion podcasts on BBC Sounds

Kicking things off, Steve Pemberton and Reece Shearsmith return to dissect the hugely popular BBC Two anthology of darkly twisted tales, Inside No. 9.

There are now more ways for comedy fans to enjoy their favourite BBC shows with the new Inside... companion podcasts on BBC Sounds.

Following on from the hugely popular Obsessed with... series, offering insight into every plot twist and turn from some of the BBC’s most anticipated dramas, Inside... will give listeners unique access to the stars and creators of some of its best loved TV comedies, including Inside... Inside No. 9, Inside... The Outlaws and more.

Louise Kattenhorn, commissioning executive said: ”We’re so excited about the return of Inside… Inside No.9 hosted by Steve Pemberton and Reece Shearsmith, and that it has sparked a brand new series of Inside… comedy TV companion podcasts on BBC Sounds. Kicking things off, Steve Pemberton and Reece Shearsmith return to dissect the hugely popular BBC Two anthology of darkly twisted tales, Inside No. 9. Each week, the stars, writers and crew join them to discuss the inspiration behind each story, revealing behind the scenes insights and secrets.

In the first special extended episode, Reece and Steve discuss series 7 opener and mini League Of Gentlemen reunion, 'Merrily Merrily'. As well as hinting at a League of Gentlemen and Inside No. 9 crossover, guest Mark Gatiss reminisces about the threesome’s early friendship while Diane Morgan comes clean about an accidental adult nappy over-order.

Guests still to come include directors Louise Hooper, Al Campbell, producer Kim Crowther and more.

Series 7 of Inside No. 9 begins 20 April on BBC Two and broadcast weekly, with guest stars including Jessica Hynes, Ron Cook, Line Of Duty’s Daniel Mays, Sophie Okonedo from Ratched and Back To Life’s Daisy Haggard.

Inside… Inside No 9 is available every Wednesday on BBC Sounds, straight after each television episode airs.
