Tina joins travel news presenter Richie Anderson and sports presenter Mike Williams.

Zoe says: “I am thrilled to be joined by such a talented trio in the form of Richie, Tina and Mike. Now this top team are ready for Monday, we can’t wait for people to hear the show!”

Richie Anderson joins the Breakfast Show from BBC WM. He has also been a reporter for The One Show and on the red carpet at various events such as the BBC Music Awards and Sports Personality of the Year.

Richie says: “It’s an absolute dream come true to be joining The Zoe Ball Breakfast Show and work with Zoe and the rest of the amazingly talented team. In the practice shows we’ve done we’ve really bounced off each other and had such a laugh and I can’t wait for the rest of the country to join our little gang! I know my tummy will be doing cartwheels on the morning of the first show, I just can’t wait to get started now.”

Journalist and presenter Tina Daheley is well known for working alongside Nick Grimshaw on the Radio 1 Breakfast Show and as a regular presenter for Radio 1 and 1Xtra’s flagship news programme Newsbeat. Tina has also deputised on BBC Breakfast and Victoria Derbyshire and has co-presented Crimewatch alongside Jeremy Vine. She appeared for the first time on the BBC News at Six and the BBC News at Ten last year. Also in 2018, Tina launched Beyond Today for BBC Sounds - spinning off from the iconic Radio 4 news and current affairs programme - in which she and her co-host Matthew Price ask one big question of one big story every weekday.

Tina says “After ten years and three consecutive breakfast shows on Radio 1/1Xtra I swore I’d never do it again. But being asked to take over from my news idol and broadcasting legend Moira Stuart on the biggest Breakfast Show in the UK with the first female host in its history, it was an offer I couldn’t turn down! I can’t wait to start working with Zoe.”

Mike joined BBC Sport in 2011 and has since worked as a sports reader at 5 live, World Service, Asian Network, Newsbeat and has previously covered on the Radio 2 Breakfast Show.

Mike says: “In the late 90s, I used to get up early every Saturday morning to watch Zoe present Live & Kicking, so it’s now pretty mind-blowing to be joining her team on the brand new Zoe Ball Breakfast Show. This is a genuine dream job on the biggest show in the country and I can’t wait to bring the sports news to millions of listeners every morning.”

Zoe and the team will bring the listeners the best start to their morning, with celebrity guests, quizzes, headlines, tunes chosen by listeners, and more music that you can shake a glitter ball at. There's also weather with Carol Kirkwood, a daily Pause For Thought and listeners on the line, as Zoe entertains the nation with fun for the whole family.

Helen Thomas, Head of Content Commissioning, Radio 2, says: “It’s wonderful that Tina Daheley will be bringing her news presenting expertise to The Zoe Ball Breakfast Show, joining Mike, Richie, Carol and of course Zoe to launch what I know will be an incredible show next week.”

On being appointed the new host of the Radio 2 Breakfast Show, Zoe said: "I'm absolutely thrilled to be following in the giant footsteps of Chris Evans as the host of the Radio 2 Breakfast Show. To be the first woman to present this very special show is both an honour and privilege. Believe me, I'm not underestimating the enormity of the task ahead, to follow not one but two of my broadcasting idols, into such a well-loved show is somewhat daunting but I hope, in the same way that Chris made this show his own after taking over from the wonderful Sir Terry Wogan, that with a top team alongside me, I can bring the fabulous Radio 2 audience a show they want to wake up to."
