Arlo Parks presents a new weekly musical exploration Dream Fuel, as part of Back To Back Sounds, the new music feature on BBC Sounds.

Dream Fuel is a space for music fans to share, relate, reflect, create, engage and be inspired. For each 60-minute episode, Arlo curates a personal playlist, interwoven with ideas and reflections, poetry, voicenotes, field recordings and art, as she checks in from various locations while on tour across the US. Engaging directly with fans, friends and peers on each episode, Dream Fuel is both an ongoing musical conversation and an intimate, honest exchange of creative thought and inspiration.

Guests for the series include Romil from BROCKHAMPTON, Zadie Smith, Mitski, Finneas, MUNA, St Vincent, Clairo, Carmen Maria Machado and more. This week’s episode features a very special conversation with American singer-songwriter Sharon Van Etten, who charts her romantic journey with music. From a crush on a boy who first played her Spoon and the Velvet Underground track that convinced her she needed to end a relationship and pursue music, to the song that should have soundtracked the first dance at her wedding, before it was postponed due to Covid.

Arlo Parks says: “With Dream Fuel I wanted to create a space to share music that I’m moved by and discuss dreams and illuminations with artists I’m inspired by. Curation has always been almost like an art form to me so I’m so grateful to BBC Sounds for allowing me to spread positivity and bring people together through this project.”

Dream Fuel with Arlo Parks is available on Back To Back Sounds: The Reset, on BBC Sounds and broadcast weekly on BBC Radio 6 Music.
