Guest mentors and release date announced for The Rap Game UK series three

Produced by Naked (a Fremantle label) the new series will start on BBC iPlayer at 7pm on Thursday 22 July, with new episodes weekly

Russ Millions, Scorcher, Jammer, Hardy Caprio, Ghetts, Dizzee Rascal, Darkoo, Ivorian Doll, WSTRN, Big Zuu, Michail Antonio, Chip and Kenny Allstar are some of the huge names to appear as guest mentors for the third series of award-winning BBC Three talent search The Rap Game UK.

With help from some of the biggest names in the business, DJ Target, Krept and Konan are back to mentor six new up-and-coming artists as they take part in a contest to break into the music industry.

Filmed across new locations in Manchester, the six-part series sees the artists take part in a series of challenges designed to test their abilities and train them for success in the industry. This year, the winning artist will receive £20k to further their music career.

Russ Millions is a record-breaking UK rapper and songwriter from South London. The first UK drill artist to chart within the UK top ten.

One of UK grime’s originators, Scorcher is a former member of the Grime collective The Movement.

Jammer is a British Grime MC, rapper, songwriter and record producer. The former member of Boy Better Know and N.A.S.T.Y crew is a clash pioneer and launched grime clash series Lord of The Mics.

Hardy Caprio is a figurehead of the afro-swing movement. With millions of streams, he is one of the scene’s biggest commercial successes.

Legendary UK MC, Ghetts is an award-winning Grime artist. The former member of N.A.S.T.Y Crew went on to create Grime collective The Movement and has released a number of huge tracks, while also collaborating with some of the biggest names in the industry, including Stormzy, Kano, Wretch 32, Little Simz and Stefflon Don.

One of the most successful British rappers of all time, Dizzee Rascal is among the most acclaimed and influential music artists associated with London’s grime scene. With an array of chart hits, Dizzee has worked with the biggest names in rap and was awarded an MBE in the Queen’s 2020 Birthday Honours.

MOBO-nominated Darkoo blew up in 2019 with her track Gangsta, which racked up 22 million views.

Ivorian Doll crafted her career on social media and YouTube and is now one of the UK’s most exciting rappers and influencers. She’s the perfect person to advise the artists on how to bring it in a music video and will be helping them with their style, brand and performance.

Gabriella Kingsley is a film director who broke onto the scene directing Krept and Konan’s video, Falling. Since then she’s worked with huge artists like Tinie Tempah, MoStack and Aitch.

Kirx Diaz is a music video director who has worked with huge artists including Mabel, Not3z and Yungen.

WSTRN are a West London R&B collective comprising of Akelle, Haile and Louis. The group have had massive hits, including their debut single In2.

A member of the MTP Crew, Big Zuu is one of grime’s biggest and brightest talents, with his own primetime TV show.

Professional footballer and rap fan Michail Antonio is a Premier League star player for West Ham United.

With a career spanning over 15 years, Chip is a MOBO Award-winning artist who has toured the world and released chart-topping singles, collaborating with some of the biggest names in the music industry today.

BBC Radio 1Xtra DJ Kenny Allstar is a trusted voice in the genre and a champion for the UK scene, having worked with everyone from Ghetts, Aitch, Mike Skinner, Headie One, M Huncho and more. His BBC Radio 1Xtra show on Friday nights brings the sounds of the streets to a national listenership, bringing the nation up to date with the latest drill and rap.

The Rap Game UK is a 6 x 60' series made by Naked (a Fremantle label) for BBC Three. It is commissioned by Fiona Campbell, Controller BBC Three and Catherine Catton, Head of Commissioning, Popular Factual and Factual Entertainment. Patrick McMahon and Ricky Cooper are the Commissioning Editors for the BBC. Tom O’Brien and Cam de la Huerta are Executive Producers.
