Fans of hit BBC Three comedy series, ‘Man Like Mobeen’, can apply for free tickets to attend an exclusive, glitzy red-carpet preview event in Birmingham.

The new fourth season of Guz Khan’s Bafta-nominated series from Tiger Aspect - part of Banijay UK - and in association with Dice Roll Productions, is a four part (4x30) comedy written by Guz Khan and co-creator Andy Milligan.

The red carpet screening will be of the first two episodes and followed by a panel discussion with some of the cast and writers. The panel will include Guz Khan (Mobeen), Tolu Ogunmefun (Nate), Dúaa Karim (Aqsa), Andy Milligan (writer) and Gill Isles (executive producer).

The event will be held at The Bond in Digbeth, Birmingham on Tuesday 23 May. Tickets are available via the BBC Shows and Tours website.

Viewers first met reformed drug-dealer Mobeen as he was trying to turn his life around living as a good Muslim, looking after his little sister, and trying to escape his troubled past. Since then he’s almost made good on living a quiet-ish life, but in the cliff-hanger series three finale, he found himself banged-up behind bars with Nate, after their close friend Eight had been killed. As they adjust to life on the inside, familiar faces are also set to return, but in very unexpected situations. All this means Mobeen and Nate must once again negotiate new challenges and circumstances. So can the haphazard heroes make it to the end of their sentence without causing more mayhem and come good on their dream of living a quiet life?

Filming for the series took place at locations around the West Midlands. This announcement is part of the BBC’s Across the UK strategy, bringing us closer to our audiences to better reflect, represent and serve all parts of the UK.

By 2027/28 the BBC will be spending at the very least, an extra £700m cumulatively across the UK - generating an additional economic benefit of over £850 million. This will not only dramatically increase opportunities for jobs and training but improve representation on and off screen.

Tanya Qureshi, BBC Head of Comedy says: “I’m delighted that after being busy making movies in Hollywood, Guz found time to return to Small Heath and deliver a truly fantastic new series for Mobeen fans on the BBC.”

Stuart Thomas, Senior Head of Content Production for the Midlands adds: “It’s been three years since we’ve seen Man Like Mobeen on the screen and it’s brilliant that the show will be back on iPlayer and BBC Three. With Silent Witness and Masterchef coming to the West Midlands soon, our commitment to the region continues to grow.”

The fourth series of Man Like Mobeen will be released on BBC Three and BBC iPlayer in Summer 2023.

Produced by Tiger Aspect for the BBC, in association with Dice Roll Productions, Man Like Mobeen is Executive Produced by Head of Tiger Aspect Comedy, David Simpson, Gill Isles, Guz Khan and Andy Milligan. The Director for the series is Akaash Meeda (The Lazarus Project, Mobility) and the Producer is Lynn Roberts. Man Like Mobeen was commissioned by Jon Petrie, Director of Comedy Commissioning at the BBC. The Commissioning Editor for the BBC is Tanya Qureshi and the series will be distributed by Banijay Rights.

Tickets for this exclusive screening and panel discussion are available via the BBC Shows and Tours website. The ballot closes on Wednesday 17 May at 10am.
