Rooting from a collaboration between colleagues across divisions of Bertelsmann - Penguin Random House UK, Fremantle and BMG have reunited using their shared experience across content, digital, publishing, broadcasting, music and education; to create audio and social interactions, connecting Generation Z and Millennial listeners with some of the UK’s most courageous, cultural influencers.

This season’s podcast is hosted by West London MC, Big Zuu and award-winning filmmaker and journalist, Fenn O’ Meally. The synergy between them exudes their combined passion for young people along with the strong urgency to communicate honest and true stories with the aim to impact lives and make a difference.

The guests featured each week include Poet and Snoochie Shy, Sideman, Remel London and Ben Hunte, authors Chelsea Kwakye and Ore Ogunbiyi, plus musicians, Joy Crookes, S1 and Novelist and many more.

This is Spoke was ignited to provoke and encourage debate amongst young people aged 17 to 24 – on some of the most meaningful and contemporary issues influencing their lives, empowering them to join in and speak out.

Said Rob Clark – Global Entertainment Director, Fremantle, “I’ve watched This Is Spoke grow from a spark of an idea pitched within our companies, to see it develop cross-divisionally into something very inspiring indeed. Now in Season 2, This Is Spoke has grown into a young brand with a strong message, a dedication to young people and unapologetic stance that we are all excited about.”

Said Alistair Norbury - President, BMG UK, BMG are delighted to be a founder partner on This Is Spoke. It has become the flagship example of collaboration between Bertelsmann UK companies and watching the growth from Season One to Season Two is a tribute to the This Is Spoke team.”

Said Tom Weldon, CEO Penguin Random House UK, “It’s fantastic to see the second season of This Is Spoke come to life. The team behind the project have developed the podcast into a prime example of a platform that uses collaboration, creativity and unapologetic conversations as a force for change. Bringing together a diverse range of established and up-and-coming voices, season two is hugely thought-provoking and, ultimately, empowering.”
