One of the most exciting bands to emerge over the past few years, Inhaler have landed Number One on the UK albums chart with their highly-anticipated debut album It Won’t Always Be Like This.

Inhaler, signed to BMG for publishing, are the first Irish band to top the UK charts in 13 years. The album is also this week’s best-seller on vinyl and the fastest-selling debut album on vinyl of any band this century.

Celebrating the news, the Irish quartet told OfficialCharts.com: “From starting off in small clubs in the UK to where we are today, never did we think during the making of this album that this would be possible for us four chancers. It means the absolute world to us.”

Recorded with long-term collaborator and producer Antony Genn at London’s Narcissus Studios, It Won’t Always Be Like This captures the band's evolution from exciting upstarts to refined songsmiths.

Eli Hewson, singer and guitarist, said: “There’s a sense of optimism on this album and the song 'It Won’t Always Be Like This' is the main catalyst for that. We kept coming back to that title.” Hewson is the son of U2 lead singer Bono.

The band formed whilst still at school in Dublin, bonding over a love of Joy Division, The Stone Roses, Kings Of Leon, The Strokes, Interpol, The Cure, and more. A string of captivating singles and fevered live shows have earned them a huge fanbase – on their last tour, they sold over 10,000 tickets and played to sold-out crowds across Europe. Their tracks have been streamed over 50 million times globally.

Inhaler are set to go on tour across the UK and Ireland from August 2021.
