BPI announces latest Innovation Hub on July 6 hosted by 7Digital at their City of London offices

The latest BPI Innovation Hub takes place this coming Thursday, 6th July and will be hosted by digital music and radio services platform 7Digital at their City of London offices.

This regular series, which seeks to match up innovative tech companies with record labels and music organisations that are looking to utilise new technology in their business, has been hosted by the BPI and Runway East in Shoreditch in recent months.

Participation is by invitation only, with a strong line up of music companies confirmed for this week’s event, including representatives from Universal Music, Warner Music, Regent Street Records, Horus and Abbey Road Red as well as United Talent Agency.  Among the tech line-up are British start-ups Subba-Cultcha and Amondo, while international representation comes in the shape of LiveM from Finland and Qrates, who will be presenting via skype from Japan.

Heading up the initiative for the BPI is Innovation Hub Director, Vanessa Higgins – Founder of Regent Street Records and an independent label representative on BPI Council.  Supporting Vanessa with key contributions are Charles Fitzgerald, Anthony David King, Seth Jackson and Stephen O'Reiley.  BPI Director of Independent Member Services, Chris Tams, is responsible for its general administration.

Innovation Hub Director, Vanessa Higgins, comments:

The BPI Innovation Hub events are fast-becoming unmissable for the industry on both the music and tech sides, and we're delighted by the high calibre of companies involved. Furthermore, as the Hub develops, we're seeing a real community of professionals, with a keen interest on cutting-edge ideas and technology, engaging with us on a regular basis.

“I’d like to extend particular thanks to 7Digital for hosting this latest event, which will see presentations from tech companies based as far away as Japan and Scandinavia, as well as a whole host of home-grown talent."

The Innovation Hub has attracted the interest of a broad range of tech companies and labels, including the majors, but its organisers are keen to ensure that the independent community is also served.

Any independent label, music or technology company seeking to present at future events should contact Chris Tams chris.tams@bpi.co.uk.
