BTS' 'Map of the Soul: 7' Makes World Chart History

This week, BTS made chart history yet again with their fourth No. 1 album, Map of the Soul: 7.

As previously reported, the South Korean septet are No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart (dated March 7) with their new album selling 422,000 equivalent album units. This means that they have broken the record for the highest first week sales of 2020 so far.

Their single "ON" shot straight to No. 4, securing them their third Top 10 and highest-charting entry, as well as the first Top 5 Hot 100 hit for any K-pop group.

And as if that wasn't enough to send their A.R.M.Y. wild, BTS also became the first act to earn 100 charting songs in the World Digital Song Sales chart.

This week they've claimed the Top 18 spots - in total 21 of the chart’s 25 spots - with tracks from Map of the Soul: 7. Thirteen of the BTS songs currently charting are debuts, while the rest come from a number of different previous releases.
