Ed Sheeran has seized the crown from Adele to become the richest British celebrity aged 30 and under, according to the heat Rich List, an annual guide to the UK’s richest young stars.

The singer-songwriter, 28, has nearly doubled his wealth within the past year from £94m in 2017 to a staggering £170m estimated worth, thanks to his two-year world-breaking highest-grossing ÷ Divide Tour. His song-writing skills have helped him shift 150m records worldwide and even his cast-offs are mammoth hits for the likes of Justin Bieber, Rita Ora and Anne-Marie, amassing him substantial royalties. The £5.9m he paid on tax last year barely dents his fortune!

Harry Potter actor Daniel Radcliffe has regained second position on the list. Much of 30-year-old Daniel’s £90m was netted during his ten years playing the schoolboy wizard in the money-spinning franchise.

At number three is Harry Styles, 25, with £64m. Since being with One Direction, the dosh has rolled in from the singer’s solo career, including an estimated £12m from his 2017/18 world tour. A lucrative £8m deal as Gucci ambassador has also fattened his wallet, including being the face of their new genderless fragrance.

The bulk of Emma Watson’s fortune stems from her Hermione Granger years starring in the Harry Potter films, topped up by £12m from 2017’s Beauty And The Beast. The actress, 29, is in fourth place with an estimated fortune of £57m.

Little Mix remain steady in sixth place with each Little Mixer now worth around £12.5m, thanks to sales from five albums, arena-slaying tours, merchandise sales and endorsements, ranging from Union Flag and M&Ms to micellar face wipes and USA Pro sports bras.

The remainder of the top ten spots are once again shared by Harry Styles’ former 1D bandmates, but separated this year by Cara Delevingne, 27, who has jumped up the list into ninth position. The catwalk queen hauled in an eye-watering £21.5m last year. It’s a payload earned mostly by returning to modelling, plus as a director of her family’s property empire.

Niall Horan, 26, in fifth, has boosted his bank balance to £54.8m with his 81-date Flicker world tour which is believed to have netted him £8.8m last year. Louis Tomlinson, 27, is at seven with £46m, Liam Payne, 26, at eight with £44m and Zayn Malik, 26, in tenth place with £38m.

Grime artist Stormzy, 26, has stormed his way in at 14 as the highest new entry, following his historic headline set at Glastonbury this summer making him a household name and £12m richer. Right behind in 15th place with £11.8m is the second-highest new entry Dua Lipa, 24. Her earnings shot up in the last year by £9m, guaranteeing her a place on the list thanks to touring, and big-money deals with Jaguar, Adidas, Pepe Jeans and YSL.

Other notable new entries include TOWIE’s Tommy Mallet, in at 24 with £5.2m and Billie Faiers with £3.8m at 29. The £170-a-pair trainers from his Mallet footwear firm, worn by stars ranging from Drake to Craig David, banked Tommy £4m last year. Billie has banked £600k, from The Mummy Diaries and pocketed £500k from partnering with fashion giant In The Style. Maisie Williams, a new entry at 25 with 4.4m, was just 12 years old when she started playing child-warrior Arya Stark in Game Of Thrones and rumoured to have earned £158k per episode. A budding career as a tech-entrepreneur is in the works, as she launched social media app Daisie earlier this year.

New joint entrants at 28 are Love Island’s first married couple Olivia and Alex Bowen, who are also by far, the show’s wealthiest contestants. Their joint earnings of £4.3m are thanks to TV presenter roles and endorsements with fashion brands Quiz, Miss Pap, BoohooMAN and Gym King.

Also joining this year’s heat Rich List for the first time are singers Jess Glynne and George Ezra, who share 27th position. Jess snagged £1.3m supporting the Spice Girls stadium tour (£100k per night), and earned extra bucks licensing songs to advertise M&S ready meals and Jet2holidays totalling £4.4m, just as she turned 30. George Ezra’s Staying at Tamara’s was the biggest selling artist album of 2018, while Shotgun topped charts across the globe, securing his spot. The 23-year old superhero Tom Holland who has pulled on his Superman pants for five Marvel films so far, just scraped into the list at 30, with £3.5m.

Kylie Jenner remains the wealthiest star aged 30 and under outside the UK, thanks to the success of Kylie Cosmetics, plus also the world’s highest-paid Instagram influencer, reportedly paid around £960k per post. Taylor Swift leap-frogged Justin Bieber into second place, thanks to her Reputation Stadium Tour, raking in a pre-tax income of £151m and endorsement deals with Netflix, Apple and Diet Coke.

Zoella is the richest Female Social Influencer with £4.7m, earning at her peak £600k a year from her lifestyle channels. And, with 9.7m Instagram followers, she can earn £12k per sponsored post. Nobody could have predicted that 29-year old Sophie Hinchliffe aka Mrs Hinch’s cleaning hacks could have made her the UK’s biggest cleanfluencer, earning her nearly £5k a post. Her Hinch Yourself Happy book, which sold 160k copies in three days, has brought her home £1m.

Now in its ninth year, the heat Rich List delves into the bank accounts of Britain’s youngest, richest stars to find out exactly where they make their money. Combing through their company accounts (where available), record sales, TV contracts and endorsement deals, a team of experts produces an estimate for their lifetime earnings to date. Each entry has to be an entertainer, aged 30 or under and born in, or chiefly resident in, the UK.

The 30 Richest Celebrities 30 and Under appears in this week’s heat magazine, on sale now (Tuesday 29 October).
