HITS RADIO TO EXPAND FM COVERAGE IN THE SOUTH COAST AND SOUTH WEST OF ENGLANDOFFICIAL PRESS RELEASENEWS PROVIDED BY Bauer Media Bauer station Hits Radio is to expand its FM coverage in the South Coast and South West of England. The station which features shows from presenters including Fleur East, Max George, and Sarah Jane Crawford will be extending its reach to a further 1.2 million people. It means that Fire Radio in Bournemouth - which is already part of the Hits Radio Brand Network – will be rebranding as Hits Radio, along with Sam FM in Bristol on September 6th. They will both welcome a national Breakfast show hosted by Fleur East along with a regional drivetime programme. The current Fire Radio Breakfast presenters Max and Jason will move over to Hits Radio (Bristol and the South West (formerly Sam FM) to present drivetime, while Jono Holmes will start a new drivetime show on Hits Radio - Bournemouth and Poole. As the format of Sam FM is changing following approval by Ofcom last year, it does sadly mean that Bauer will be saying goodbye to their current presenting line-up. Both stations will continue to provide the local news, information, traffic and travel that listeners value as well as work with Bauer charity, Cash for Kids Graham Bryce said “Hits Radio’s journey has been building steadily over the last couple of years, and we’re incredibly happy to now be able to extend its reach to more of our listeners in the South of England. Led by the now ARIA award-winning Fleur East at breakfast Hits Radio offers listeners an entertaining and fun escape, with original, authentic presenters who share their interests and values. “Sam FM’s Kam Kelly, Mark Franklin and Downsy have all made fantastic contributions during their time at the station, and as they broadcast their final shows over the next few weeks, I’d like to wish them all the very best.”
