SINGER SONGWRITER BETH ORTON SIGNS PUBLISHING DEAL WITH BMG

New York, April 10, 2014 - Beth Orton has signed a worldwide, exclusive co-publishing deal with BMG Chrysalis US which now represents her entire 20 year catalog of songs. The Brit Award-winning singer-songwriter is known for her thoughtful lyrics and unique pairing of folk and electronica.

The British artist first emerged on the music scene in the mid-1990s with a series of collaborations with William Orbit and The Chemical Brothers. Orton won a devoted following with the albums Trailer Park, which featured the single 'She Cries Your Name,' in 1996, and Central Reservation, in 1999, which led to a Brit Award for Best Female Artist.  The well-received Sugaring Season in 2012 was her first album in six years. Orton's work has continued to reach new audiences with high-profile syncs on shows such as Grey's Anatomy.

Michele Fleischli, Orton's manager, commented:  "It's exciting to work with a team that is dedicated to the art of collaborating and making music, which Beth finds inspiring."

Kate Hyman, SVP of Creative at BMG Chrysalis, commented: "Beth has a gift for blending distinct sounds and writing lyrics that are emotionally raw.  It is an honor for BMG to be able to work with her catalog and help propel her career forward."
