Björk cancels gig due to illness

Björk was forced to cancel a performance just hours before she was due to take the stage in New York.

The Icelandic sensation was scheduled to play a live set at the New York Hall of Science on Thursday, February 9 but took to social networking site Facebook to inform concert goers that she was too ill to go ahead with the show:

"Dear folks, I am terribly sorry (I) got struck by the February flu, no notes from me today! I'm going to try to get better before Sunday... we are trying to rejuggle things to do the show later, all the warmth, Bjork."

Promoters were quick to reassure fans they could get their money back from the cancelled performance and added: "Due to health issues, tonight’s björk show at the new york hall of science is canceled. refunds will be available at point of purchase."

According to her tour schedule, Björk will return to the New York Hall of Science on Sunday, February 12 and is also set to headline a few more New York area shows next week.
