Blackpink and Selena Gomez's 'Ice Cream' makes YouTube history

Blackpink and Selena Gomez released their highly anticipated new single 'Ice Cream' on Friday (August 28).

Its accompanying music video has already surpassed 118 million views (updated August 30) on YouTube, earning more first day views than any other all-female collaboration in the platform's history. Blackpink are also the first Korean group to have multiple music videos with over 1 billion views each on YouTube.

The electrifying track sees another powerhouse performance from the South-Korean quartet and multi-platinum singer-songwriter.

'Ice Cream' was penned by an incredible line-up of songwriters, including Gomez herself, as well as fellow pop icon Ariana Grande, plus Victoria Monét, TEDDY, Tommy Brown, Steven Franks, Bekuh BOOM and 24.

The single arrives as the follow-up to Blackpink’s record-shattering single 'How You Like That' — a trap-pop anthem recently nominated for Song of Summer at the 2020 MTV VMAs. In addition to surpassing a staggering 100 million streams on Spotify in under a month, the track debuted at #33 on the Billboard Hot 100, making Blackpink the K-pop act with the second-highest number of Hot 100 entries in chart history. Meanwhile, the mind-blowing visual for 'How You Like That' became the fastest video in YouTube history to cross 10 million likes, smashing the record for most views within the first 24 hours (Watch the video below).

Both 'Ice Cream' and 'How You Like That' will appear on Blackpink’s full-length debut album which is set for release on October 2, 2020. Pre-orders are available now here and merch bundles for the album are available here.
