Drug charges against Jon Bon Jovi's daughter have been dropped

The district attorney has dropped all charges against Stephanie Bongiovi, Jon Bon Jovi's teenage daughter.

The 19-year-old was taken to hospital after being found unconscious at her Hamilton College dorm room by an ambulance crew.

Charges were also dropped against 21-year-old Ian Grant who was allegedly involved in the incident.

All charges were dropped because of a New York law which states that people who overdose on illegal drugs cannot be prosecuted. Neither can the people who assist them in getting medical attention.

Bongiovi had originally been charged with possession of a controlled substance, marijuana possession and criminal use of drug paraphernalia.

Last month (October 2012) Bon Jovi announced plans to reduce ticket prices for struggling fans.
