The legendary Sir Elton John isn’t going to let the sun go down without first putting a smile on the faces of the nation’s children when he becomes the latest star to read a CBeebies Bedtime Story.
CBeebies today announced that the musical icon will read The Dog Detectives: Lost in London by Fin and Zoa, and illustrated by Monika Suska on Thursday, 3 May.

Sir Elton will tell the story of The Dog Detectives who are cycling through the busy streets of London when they are called up to solve a new case. The guardians of the city, six black ravens, have disappeared from the Tower of London. It’s a race against time for The Dog Detectives who must solve riddles and search the streets of London and its landmarks to find the ravens before it is too late.

Sir Elton says: “Family is always really important to me, no less so this year, where they have been supporting me on my Farewell Tour launch and working on the movie Sherlock Gnomes. I now get to read a Bedtime Story to families all over the UK on CBeebies. It was a great day and I hope you enjoy it.”

He is the latest name to be added to a stellar list of celebrities to have read a CBeebies Bedtime Story including Suranne Jones, Tom Hardy, Dolly Parton, US actor Chris Evans, Jessica Ennis-Hill, Guy Garvey, David Tennant, Damian Lewis and Tim Peake.

Keep a look out for more announcements on new Bedtime Story readers throughout the year.

CBeebies Bedtime Stories is on daily at 6:50pm.
