Available for free on app stores, CBeebies Storytime encourages a love of stories in early years and supports literacy, vocabulary and reading skills. The app has been updated to make it easier to use for little ones, with a brand new look and stories full of playful interactions.

The new stories celebrate diversity and inclusivity to better reflect the lives of all children from across the UK. There’s lots of magical adventures to explore – from experiencing a first day at school with Olanna’s Super Senses, to partying with JoJo & Gran Gran in It’s Time For Carnival, or learning about making friends with Pinchy the Dragon.

The stories have been created by a range of talented authors, actors and illustrators. There’s stories from authors Andrew Davenport, Caleb Femi, Destynee Onwochei, Lucia Haynes, Mandy Archer, Olly Pike and Sophie Dutton. The stories come to life with narration from actors including Nina Sosanya, Tamsin Greig, Ben Bailey Smith and Pippa Bennett-Warner and illustrations from James Munro, Mariko Umeda, Mark Bird, Noriko Matsubara and Sarah Rees.

There’s also Little Bo Peep’s Library Book, a story from bestselling author, illustrator and Children’s Laureate Cressida Cowell. Voiced by actor Matthew Lewis, it takes children on an enchanting trip to the library with Little Bo Peep, as she searches for the right book to help her find her lost sheep.

Current Children’s Laureate Cressida Cowell MBE, says: “I'm delighted to support the CBeebies Storytime app and to make the magic of books accessible to as many children as possible.
