'Wish You On’

Bristol's most exciting new bassist/song writer/ artist DeJay releases his debut single ‘Wish You On’ on 10th May 2016.

British born, American-raised artist DeJay set out on a task to be an alternative to the vapid hole that is pop music. After 5 years of searching and experimenting with sounds and styles, DeJay has found himself by creating hybrids of his favourite music genres including Dub and Reggae. Mixing those two specifically with RnB, Trap, Gospel, Soul, and even Funk; he knows no boundaries.

More important than the sound are the words. DeJay is a storyteller and out of that comes songs that are designed to allow people to naturally begin thinking for themselves. He challenges your perception of reality while making you dance.

‘Wish You On’, scheduled for release on 10th May 2016, is something fresh. A blending of new wave Dub and Reggae to produce a fresh collaboration of sounds. Taken from his debut album ‘The Decoy’ which features the likes of King Tubby and Augustus Pablo.  Think Drake + Kanye West meets Sting. The album carries this genre in a new direction, continuing to bring life to the sounds that the pioneers laid the foundations for in the 70's. 
  
 Already making a big name for himself in Bristol, a city that's had a love affair with Dub for the last 50 years, DeJay is set to take the UK by storm this summer showcasing his work and making his show an experience that takes you on a journey, telling you a story and empowering everyone to think and believe themselves free.

His message to us all is undo all that we have been made to become and become who we choose to be.
