Born on the south-side of Chicago, growing up, singer / songwriter, Mike De’cole was inspired by artists like Bobby Brown, Dave Hollister from Black Street and Diane Warren as amazing songwriters and Michael Jackson as a phenomenal performer.

Releasing his debut album, ‘So it Was Written’ in 2016, the album spawned the soulful ballad ‘Find a Way to Love’ which earned Mike De’cole a nomination for best R&B song by California’s prestigious HMMA (Hollywood Music in Media Awards), respect from his music peers and led him to collaborations with respected artists like Mosi Dorbayani and Grammy Award winning artist Jamecia Bennet from Sound of Blackness.

Fast forward to 2019 and Mike De’coleis still in a great creative space; releasing his latest project - a new catchy UK single - ‘Let’s Lay Back’, taken from his highly anticipated 4 track taster EP ‘Simply Wonderful’, which will be released as a full project later this year.

‘Let’s Lay Back’ is an infectiously smooth summer track featuring a sample of ‘Can You Feel What I’m Saying’ by Minnie Ripperton, laced with De’cole’s silky, distinctive vocals. Currently residing in Minnesota (his mother relocated the family to have a better life giving them the freedom to grow and pursue their dreams), Mike De’cole worked with Ben Obi, Tim Levy, Cap and Dean Jackson on ‘Let’s Lay Back’ to create RnB magic that is nothing short of a vibe.
