Camila Cabello & Host of Big Names Wow at MTV VMAs

Camila Cabello took the stage at Sunday Night's (Sept. 12) MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) to perform "Don’t Go Yet" (Listen here and watch the performance below).

The 24-year-old singer gave an energetic performance at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York City, before introducing her boyfriend Shawn Mendes who then went on to sing "Summer of Love" (Listen here and watch his performance below). Mendes was joined by producer and collaborator on the song, Tainy.

Other big performances on the night came from Justin Bieber ft. The Kid LAROI, Ed Sheeran, Doja Cat, Anitta, Kacey Musgraves, Lil Nas X, Twenty One Pilots and more.

The night also included a surprise from Madonna, who opened the first VMAs in 1984 with her hit "Like a Virgin". The 63-year-old icon walked on stage to her 1990 song "Vogue", and stripped off her trench coat to reveal a BDSM-inspired PVC outfit. Shortly before she departed the stage, the star - who famously shared a smooch with Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera at the 2003 VMAs - told the crowd: "They said we wouldn't last, but we're still here motherf******.

"Happy 40th MTV. Welcome to the 2021 MTV VMAs."

Doja hosted the ceremony and performed her songs "Been Like This" and "You Right".

Olivia Rodrigo scooped three prizes, and also took to the stage to sing her hit "Good 4 U". The 18-year-old took home Song of the Year for "Drivers License" and Push Performance of the Year for a May 2021 rendition of the song, as well as Best New Artist.

The Foo Fighters, who were introduced by Billie Eilish, received the first US Global Icon Award and performed their hits "Learn to Fly", "Shame Shame", and "Everlong". Joined on stage by his bandmates Nate Mendel, Pat Smear, Taylor Hawkins, Chris Shiflett and Rami Jaffee, frontman Dave Grohl said: "Thank you very much ladies and gentlemen for having us here tonight. It's quite an award to receive. We've been a band for 26 years, so it feels pretty good.

"Thank you all very much for this award. We'll see you in 26 years."

Elsewhere at the ceremony, Lil Nas X, Olivia Rodrigo and BTS each won three awards. Justin Bieber won another of the night's biggest awards, Artist of the Year, and thanked his wife, Hailey Bieber, and rapper Travis Scott, went on to win the Best Hip-Hop accolade shortly afterwards.
