February 21, 2020 — (Hollywood, CA) — The official video for Lewis Capaldi’s new single, “Before You Go,” is out now. Directed by Kyle Thrash, the poignant clip captures the joyful moments recalled by a group of friends as they pay tribute to a vibrant young woman – played by Sasha Lane (American Honey, Hellboy) – whose suicide shocked them all. “Before You Go” – one of three new songs on Divinely Uninspired To A Hellish Extent Extended Edition – has topped the UK Singles and Irish Singles charts, marking Capaldi’s second No. 1 in the UK and third No. 1 in Ireland. The song was inspired by Lewis’ aunt, who committed suicide when he was a young boy. Examining the lyrics in this piece, Billboard observes, “The melancholic ballad details the agony-inducing aftermath of a loved one dying by suicide.” Clash says, “it’s a rousing piece of acoustic songwriting with a driving vocal – trademark Capaldi, in other words.” Global streams of “Before You Go” have soared past 245 million as the song climbs the charts at U.S. Top 40 and Hot AC radio.
"Before You Go" is the both the most honest and personal song I’ve ever written,” says Capaldi. “It’s about loss, regrets and the fear that we sometimes never understand what someone is going through despite our best want to be everything that person needs.x"

Capaldi, whose 2019 fall North American tour was completely sold out, will join as a special guest on Niall Horan’s 2020 Nice To Meet Ya world tour. The outing will launch on (4/20) at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, TN and include shows at Barclays Center in New York (4/29) and The Forum in Los Angeles (5/18). Capaldi’s March 2020 tour of the UK and Ireland sold out in mere seconds, making him the first artist in history to sell out arenas prior to the release of a debut album.
Divinely Uninspired To A Hellish Extent was the biggest album of 2019 in the UK, and the single “Someone You Loved” was the biggest song of 2019, according the UK’s Official Charts. The track took Song of the Year honors at the 2020 BRIT Awards and Capaldi was named Best New Artist. In the States, “Someone You Loved” was nominated for a GRAMMY for Song of the Year and spent three weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. “Someone You Loved” has now hit one billion combined global streams on Spotify alone. It is certified Platinum or greater in a total of 18 countries, including the U.S.
Robert Christgau reviewing for Noisey, awarded Divinely Uninspired To A Hellish Extent an A- and hailed it as “a feat of uncommon emotional intelligence.” TIME says, “Lewis Capaldi has the kind of deep, textured voice that you could listen to for hours.”
Lewis Capaldi – NORTH AMERICAN HEADLINE TOUR
“Lewis Capaldi has the kind of deep, textured voice that you could listen to for hours. He finds expressive rough edges, then smooths them out into the sweetest of notes…Capaldi’s talent is tugging at heartstrings – or rather, pulling at them with all his vocal might.” -TIME
“‘Someone You Loved’ (is) ...potently effective —emotionally abusive piano, resonant singing, a swell that could cause a tsunami.” -The New York Times
“Capaldi’s album (hits) you in the gut with piercing lyrics anchored by his gravelly voice…packed with emotion and passion.” - AP
“A MINUS” - Robert Christgau
“Capaldi uses his powerful chest voice to reach the cheap seats. In the weathered grain of his singing — rich with echoes of Otis Redding and Daryl Hall — you can hear a performer capable of turning pain into beauty.” -Las Angeles Times
“Look out America, here comes Lewis Capaldi. His voice is an undeniably powerful instrument, a rich and textured soulful roar that sometimes quivers with fragility. He wields those vocal cords like a velvet sledgehammer." -STEREOGUM
“From listening to his raspy vocals and heartbreaking lyrics, it might be hard to imagine they belong to such an effortlessly funny, giddy, and grounded guy, but within 20 seconds of talking to the singer, it’s clear he’s not here to brood or boast…it’s pretty clear why his music is climbing the charts and he’s selling out gigs.” - ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY
“(‘Someone You Loved’) is good sad music about a break up and love lost… Pour yourself a whiskey and settle in.” - ESQUIRE
“Lewis Capaldi is an artist ‘You Should Know’. He has captivated listeners with his soulful voice…and has had a meteoric rise since his single “Bruises” went viral…” - BILLBOARD
