Carly Rae Jepsen on pursuing music: 'I wanted it so badly'

Canadian songstress Carly Rae Jepsen has revealed that her passion for music pushes her to keep creating.

The beauty made a huge impact on the music world with her debut single 'Call Me Maybe', but after that she ended up taking some time out to star in a Broadway production of Cinderella and wrote around 200 songs during her stint on stage.

She has now confessed to the Los Angeles Times that she knew she wanted to continue making hits, but wasn't sure which direction to go in: "I wasn't sure what I wanted to do, so for me the only solution was to keep writing, and hopefully that would lead to something. And if it didn't, I would just write more."

When asked how she manage to balance her performances of Cinderella with constantly writing music and making trips to record in the studio, she added: "It wasn't exhausting because I wanted it so badly. It was a purpose, a hunger."
