Carrie Underwood 'never has make-up free days': 'I like to feel as though I've made an effort'

Country beauty Carrie Underwood has revealed that even on her days off she likes to wear a little make-up because it makes her feel put together and like she has made an effort with her appearance.

Speaking to Us Weekly, the superstar admitted that looking her best makes her feel more confident so she always uses a few cosmetic products on a daily basis:

"I don't think I ever have makeup-free days, to be honest. I wear makeup for me. I don't want to walk by a mirror and feel like I haven't given some sort of effort. I just feel better when I have a little on."

Underwood went onto add that she enjoys getting made up so much that she does her own hair and make-up when she's on the road: "When I am on tour, I enjoy doing my own hair and make up. There are just so many people on the road, and it's kind of therapeutic for me to be able to sit on my butt and have all my things, and it's quiet. It's my time to play."

Back in January, Underwood became the ambassador for cosmetics brand Almay and Julia Goldin, the global chief marketing officer of Revlon, Inc, said that she was the perfect choice for the role: "Carrie embraces Almay's approach to beauty and products. Despite her enormous success, she is still a real girl from Oklahoma at the core and a self-professed make-up junkie who likes to try out new make-up looks in her spare time."
