Channel 4 is once again heading back to Fargo for the third instalment of the multiple award-winning anthology from MGM Television and FX Productions.

BAFTA-winning actor Ewan McGregor (Beauty and the Beast, American Pastoral, T2: Trainspotting) will play the two brothers, "Emmit" and "Ray Stussy", at the center of the story.

"Emmit Stussy" is the Parking Lot King of Minnesota. A handsome, self-made real estate mogul and family man, Emmit sees himself as an American success story. His slightly younger brother, "Ray Stussy," on the other hand, is more of a cautionary tale. Balding and pot-bellied, Ray is the kind of guy who peaked in high school. Now a parole officer, Ray has a huge chip on his shoulder about the hand he's been dealt, and he blames his brother, Emmit, for his misfortunes.

McGregor is joined by Carrie Coon (The Leftovers, Gone Girl) who plays "Gloria Burgle," a practical woman…the kind of woman who grabs the fire extinguisher when the bacon catches fire and everyone else panics. The Chief of Police in Edna Valley, and a newly divorced mother, she struggles to understand this new world around her where people connect more intimately with their phones than the people directly in front of them.

Also joining the cast for the third instalment is Scoot McNairy (Halt and Catch Fire) and Mary Elizabeth Winstead (Scott Pilgrim vs The World, 10 Cloverfield Lane). Winstead will play "Nikki Swango," a crafty and alluring recent parolee with a passion for competitive Bridge playing. Nikki is a woman with a plan, focused on always being at least one move ahead of her opponents.

Production on the third instalment of Fargo is tentatively scheduled to begin later this year and air on FX in the US and Channel 4 in the UK in 2017. Fargo hails from Peabody®, Golden Globe® and Emmy® Award winning Executive Producers Noah Hawley (creator/showrunner/writer/director), Joel & Ethan Coen, Warren Littlefield and John Cameron. Fargo is produced by MGM Television and FX Productions, with MGM Television serving as the lead studio.
