The Jump returned to Channel 4 last night with the fourteen famous faces battling it out in Parallel Slalom races before the losing seven took on The Jump live to secure their place in round two of the competition.

Race One: Louis Smith v Spencer Matthews 

Olympic medallist Louis got a quick start and former Made in Chelsea star Spencer didn’t stand a chance of catching him, making Spencer the first competitor facing The Jump eliminator this series.

Race Two: Robbie Fowler v Kadeena Cox 

Double gold Paralympic medallist Kadeena was confident but it was football legend Robbie who took the lead sending Kadeena to the top of The Jump.

Race Three: Caprice Bourett v Amy Willerton 

It was a tight race between the two women, with the lead changing three times but it was Caprice who just beat Amy leaving the former Miss GB to face The Jump.

Race Four: Mark Dolan v Sir Bradley Wiggins 

Britain’s greatest Olympian Sir Bradley met his match in comedian Mark, with the pair neck and neck the whole way down the course. It was a photo finish with Sir Bradley skis crossing the line just ahead of Mark.

Race Five: Jason Robinson v Gareth Thomas 

This was a rivalry that went back many, many years, neither rugby legend wanted to lose to the other. This was Wales chance to beat England and with Jason failing at the second gate, Gareth finally took his revenge leaving Jason heading up to The Jump.

Race Six: Josie Gibson v Jade Jones 

This was Olympic champion verses Big Brother champion, it was a tight race but Josie couldn’t quite match Jade’s pace leaving her to take on The Jump.

Race Seven: Lydia Bright v Emma Parker-Bowles 

From the very start it was neck and neck but Emma looked like she was going to beat TOWIE star Lydia. However, after taking one too many risks to try and win she fell behind which meant Emma would be the final competitor of the night to face The Jump.

Louis Smith took home the first Mini Cowbell Trophy of the series as the fasted competitor down the course at a speedy 16.42 seconds.

Spencer Matthews, Kadeena Cox, Amy Willerton, Mark Dolan, Jason Robinson, Josie Gibson and Emma Parker-Bowles all faced The Jump after losing their head to head Parallel Slalom races. Supported by the cheering crowd live from Jump Mountain in Austria, the seven faced the first Jump of the series. 

Spencer Matthews was first to take on The Jump setting the bar at 14.55m (opens in a new window) for the other six to beat. Kadeena Cox went next jumping 13.8m (opens in a new window), meaning Spencer was safe and through to the next round of the competition. Kadeena was followed by Amy Willerton who jumped 12.83m (opens in a new window) leaving Amy at the bottom of the leader board with four competitors still to jump.

With it all to play for Mark Dolan jumped reaching 10.45m (opens in a new window)and Jason Robinson flew jumping 14.95m (opens in a new window). This left Mark at the bottom of the leader board and in danger of going home.

At the top of The Jump Josie Gibson looked nervous. Even though her jump training was going well at the training centre, and being cleared to jump from that height, she had never jumped off the purpose built ski jump on Jump Mountain. It was too much for the Welsh reality star who couldn’t take it on tonight(opens in a new window) meaning all Emma Parker-Bowles had to do was land her jump to stay in competition. Despite being struck by nerves Emma Parker-Bowles determined to keep her place in the competition. With a jump of 11m (opens in a new window) she knocked Josie Gibson out of the competition.

The Jump returns to Channel4 next Sunday at 7:30pm, with the remaining competitors taking on Snow Cross and The Jump eliminator to keep their place in the competition.

Episode one of The Jump peaked with 2.8million viewers, with an average audience over the 90 minute slot of 2.4million which is up on last year’s launch.
