Iain Armitage stars as young Sheldon, alongside Zoe PerryLance Barber, Montana Jordan, Raegan Revord, and Annie Potts. Jim Parsons, who portrays the adult Sheldon Cooper on The Big Bang Theory, narrates the series and serves as an executive producer.

INTERVIEW BELOW:

Tell us all about Sheldon

Sheldon is a genius kid who is so much smarter than everyone around him, but he isn’t smart about basic things, like how to get along with people. His family is trying to understand him and he is trying to understand them.

How do you get into character? Did Jim help you?

Mr. Jim helped me to understand how Sheldon’s mind works. He was so helpful and I was really lucky to get to work with the world’s greatest Sheldon expert!

What’s been your favourite thing about filming Young Sheldon?

This is impossible to answer! I have enjoyed everything! I don’t think I am supposed to mention specific things, but this week we are filming my favorite episode so far, and last week we filmed my other favorite. It just keeps getting better!

Sheldon doesn’t seem to have many friends at school – why do you think that is?

I think it’s difficult for people to understand Sheldon and sometimes people have a hard time being friends with a person they can’t understand. Sheldon doesn’t even know he is missing out on friendships because he is happy on his own thinking big thoughts, but he also knows that maybe he should try friendship.

Why should everyone watch the show?

I think it’s fun and funny to watch and it can also be touching too, so there is something for everyone!

Have you ever been to the UK?

Yes, I have been to the UK twice. My dad’s whole family lives in Falkirk in Scotland so I’ve been there, but I haven’t been there as much as i would like though. i’ve also been to London. I’d like to go back soon and see some theatre!
