COMEDY ON 4

Friday Night Dinner
For the Goodman family, Friday Night Dinner is just like Sunday lunch: just take two days away, change the meal to dinner, and you've pretty much got it. Adam (Simon Bird) and his brother, Jonny (Tom Rosenthal), view Friday night dinner as a necessary annoyance - necessary because they get fed, and annoying because, well, they have to spend the evening with mum (Tamsin Greig) and dad (Paul Ritter).

Derry Girls
It’s the early 90s, and Erin and her friends are used to seeing their country on the nightly news and speaking in acronyms (The IRA, The UDA, The RUC). It’s a time of armed police in armoured Land Rovers and British Army check points. But it’s also the time of Murder She Wrote, The Cranberries, MJ and Lisa Marie, Doc Martens, bomber jackets, The X Files, Nirvana and Wayne’s World. And while The Troubles may hang over her home town, Erin has troubles of her own. Warm, funny and honest, Derry Girls takes a look at the everyday lives of ordinary people living in extraordinary times…

Peep Show
All nine seasons of the award-winning sitcom starring David Mitchell and Robert Webb sees these dysfunctional flatmates make the adjustment from university life to the working world.

Smack the Pony
The stylish, original and uninhibited Emmy award-winning sketch show starring Fiona Allen, Doon Mackichan and Sally Phillips. Distinctly contemporary.

Green Wing
Quick-fire (and occasionally slow motion) genre-defying comedy, set in a surreal hospital starring a stellar cast including Sally Bretton, Oliver Chris, Olivia Colman, Michelle Gomez and Stephen Mangan.

The Inbetweeners
Of course, no list would be complete without a mention of the hugely successful The Inbetweeners. If you’ve not seen it (where have you been?!), this award-winning comedy follow four socially awkward high school friends as they grow from their teenage years to adulthood.
