You’ve done loads of challenges in the past, what made you decide to take on Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins?

I’ve just never really done anything like this. I did all the challenge and adventure stuff when I was on Blue Peter but I’ve had two kids since then. When you become a mum everything changes in a good way but I just wanted to prove to myself that I could still get involved in tough stuff and challenge myself. So I kind I did it to see if I still could, if that makes sense!

This course is a mental challenge as well as a physical one, how would you rate your mental strength?

You really underestimate the mental side of this show. For me, what I found hard was that in the past when I’ve done all my adventure stuff, I’ve been part of a production team. I was part of the planning, I did the training and of course did the challenge. I was in full control.

How did you find Ant Middleton and the rest of the DS?

I took one day at a time. I’m not the kind of person who needs a routine but the fact that we never knew what we were going to do next, when we could relax and catch our breath, that was tough. At every stage they play with your mind, they drip feed information to make you think you’re going to do the most horrific thing ever. So your worst fear is something you constantly think is about to realised.

What did you think of the other celebs?

They all got there a day before me so when I walked into the room they’d all met each other, so that was daunting, I’m not going to lie. I was a bit intimidated because everyone had their little friendship groups straight away. But I tell you what, the warmest person in that room was Katie Price. She came straight up to me with the biggest grin, she was very warm and welcoming. I was really intrigued by the group because it was so different. I hate it when people come off shows like this and talk about being a family, but now having been through it, it’s true. There’s a bond there that you just can’t explain because only those people know how it felt to go through what we did.

Were there any rows?

Yeah, of course there were flare ups because there were so many different characters in there. Joey and Lauren fought like cats and dogs at times. They fell out with each other a lot, but I think it’s actually because they are very alike. I wanted to bang their heads together.
