Captive Minds has been commissioned to make a new four-part series for More 4 following presenter Jonathan Ross as he travels the UK on the hunt for incredible tales as old as time.

Mythical mysteries and local legends have existed across the British Isles for centuries. Whilst many have been lost and forgotten, Jonathan Ross is now leading an adventure to uncover these fantastic fables. Over four episodes, Jonathan discovers Myths and Legends in different parts of the country as he journeys through stunning countryside and scenery, from epic landmarks to mighty castles and historic pubs, meeting local folk and immersing himself in the stories in a bid to understand how these legends once lived and breathed.

Jonathan Ross said: “I've always been fascinated by the poetry and the truths that are to be found in folklore and mythology. So it’s been an absolute pleasure travelling round Britain meeting an amazing array of diverse and enthusiastic people who all share that interest. I’ve made some fascinating new friends who all keep the legends alive in their own ways, as well meeting up with a few old acquaintances keen to share their love and knowledge of the subject. And the scenery was amazing!”

Myths and Legends with Jonathan Ross (4x60’) was commissioned for More 4 by Clemency Green, Senior Commissioning Editor, Daytime & Features. The series will be made by Captive Minds, with Liz Mills as executive producer and Graham Cooper as series director.
