Charlie Simpson says he is speaking to Busted bandmates again

Charlie Simpson has revealed that he is speaking to his Busted bandmates after a period of years with no contact.

The musician left the group in 2005 to form his own band Fightstar, whilst his two bandmates Matt Willis and James Bourne have recently joined supergroup McBusted.

Speaking to ITV's Lorraine, Simpson said that after the formation of the Busted/McFly hybrid, he is now back on speaking terms with the musicians.

He said: "There was never any animosity between me and Matt and James and I think...they are obviously doing this super group thing now and I'm really happy for them.

"I hadn't spoken to them for a long time, about six or seven years and they rang me and told me they wanted to do that and we're kind of speaking again now, which is really nice, and almost rebuilding our relationship, so I'm pleased. Everyone is in a good place, everyone is enjoying doing what they're doing and it's all good."

Simpson meanwhile will release his new solo album 'Long Road Home' on August 4.
