Cher on Las Vegas residency: 'It didn't make me feel good'

Icon Cher has confessed that although getting a coveted residency in Las Vegas was exciting, she didn't really enjoy the experience at all because her audiences were old and often sedated.

During an interview with Graham Norton, the 'Believe' superstar explained that she performed at Caesar's Palace around 200 times between 2008 and 2001, but was playing to people who didn't seem very into it.

Referring to the $180 million (£120 million) three-year residency, she admitted that she had to eventually get on with it and put her personal feelings aside: "(It was) difficult. The audience is not allowed to stand up and they are very, very old and sometimes they had walkers and oxygen masks. I'm not kidding."

She added: "I was angry for a long time and then finally I thought this might be the last concert they ever see and they are enjoying it in their own way. It's not my way and it didn't make me feel good but they were having a wonderful time."
