Cher Lloyd has admitted that she was a "brat" whilst on the X Factor.

The singer rose to fame on the 2010 series of the UK TV talent show, but her behaviour often provoked criticism.

Speaking to Heat Radio at this weekend's Isle of Wight festival, the 'Sorry I'm Late' star admitted that growing up was the "best thing" she's done.

Lloyd, who has spent a lot of time recently in the US, said: "I've been away two years and I'm a new person. I packed my bag for two weeks but have come back two years later.

"I realised I had a lot of growing up to do and it's the best thing I could have done. I was a brat when I was on the X Factor. I was a teenager with all those hormones going on but I was doing it in front of millions."

Lloyd ultimately finished fourth on the X Factor behind acts such as One Direction and winner Matt Cardle.
