Cher Lloyd and McFly added to T In The Park bill

Cher Lloyd and McFly were today announced as surprise additions to the line-up for this year’s T In The Park Festival.

The ‘Shine A Light’ quartet and 2010 X-Factor finalist will join the likes of headliners Snow Patrol, The Stone Roses and Kasabian on the bill for the Scottish event, which is to be held at Balado from 6-8 July.

The ‘Swagger Jagger’ star, who was recently in the news after Will.i.am slammed Simon Cowell’s treatment of her career, took to Twitter to reveal her excitement: “performing at T In The Park in Scotland on July 6th, get your wellies out!!”

Several other pop acts were also confirmed to play at the festival today including Barbados four-piece Cover Driver and new boyband Lawson, alongside the likes of Shed Seven, The Subways and Django Django.

Festival organiser Geoff Ellis had previously hinted that the event would be more eclectic than previous years during an interview with STV:  “It’s a very diverse line-up, and we’re very pleased with it. There’s quite a few more acts to be announced over the next few weeks and months.”
