Cher Lloyd: "I stick out like a sore thumb"

Cher Lloyd has described herself as being something of a musical outcast.

The 19-year-old made her name on the 2010 series of the X Factor and her rap influenced style was often regarded a bit different than some of the usual talent show hopefuls.

Speaking to MTV News, Lloyd - who is in the throes of breaking America - said that she has been sticking out like a "sore thumb" ever since school.

The 'Want U Back' star however added that she likes to preach to her fans that being different is better than "blending in". She said:

"I could not categorise myself at all. I stick out like a sore thumb, I have since school. I'm like the weirdo at school that everybody stares at and is like, 'What is she wearing, what is she doing?'. That's me, strange."

Lloyd continued: "I always like to tell my fans it's better to stick out than blend in. I feel like my fans are like that, they like to stick out, they like to cause a scene and I love that, don't blend in, try and stand out."
