Cher Lloyd announces new album title

Cher Lloyd has confirmed the name of her upcoming second album.

The singer revealed to Billboard that she has called her sophomore effort 'Sorry I'm Late'.

The new collection, which will follow up her successful 2011 debut 'Sticks & Stones', is expected to be released later this year.

Talking about the significance behind the name, Lloyd said: "[The title] has two meanings. It's been a long time since I've actually done anything new… I mean, I've spent a whole lot of time trying to figure out who I am. I think everybody goes through that - that moment in your life when you're thinking 'Who am I? What would I like to do and why do I want to do it'.?"

She added: "[It] basically sums up all the music too, you know, it's been a long time and here it is and I'm really sorry that it's a little late."

The former X Factor contestant meanwhile has already released in the US the track 'I Wish' from 'Sorry I'm Late'.

The song will be unleashed in Lloyd's native UK on November 10.
