IOTA PHI aka Ilia Darlin is a Greek singer, songwriter, director and record producer. Inspired by ideas of identity, post humanism and greek mythology, her sound effortlessly brings together a swirling mix of Alternative Electronic, Pop and R&B in a truly original and elegant Art-Pop package.

Having enjoyed major support from the likes of Spin, Rolling Stone India, XS Noize, Purple Melon, Esquire, Vogue, Popjustice, Earmilk and Videostatic, Ilia’s first studio work which was released by EMI, topped the Greek charts. A follow up to the enigmatic ‘Wolves Mate For Life’ which gained placements on Spotify’s New Music Friday among other editorial playlists, Daydream is the second single taken from IOTA PHI’s upcoming debut album ‘Homo Pauperis’ released via Desire Bay Records.

Speaking on the new single IOTA PHI described ‘Daydream’ as: “A conversation with an older self, a cruel self, a self that is part of me and someone that I will always have to keep in check.” Exploring topics such as love, misgiving and quitting bad habits the song is accompanied by a lockdown-centric video.

Bringing together ambient synthesisers, dappled samples, strings and reverb-drenched vocals, ‘Daydream’ see’s IOTA PHI once again demonstrate her astounding ability to effortlessly create a dreamy, emotive soundscape. Accompanied by a beautiful yet haunting ‘quarantine video’, the music and visuals carry the listener into a dream-like state with statue casts, scattered personal objects, instruments and projections creating an idiosyncratic setting.

Talking about the tracks accompanying visuals Ilia said:
“The whole video takes place in a room; remember when your room reflected your whole world? Time and space are distorted.”

Following nominations from Berlin Music Video Awards alongside the likes James Blake, Alt-j, and Bjork, IOTA PHI has won a number of awards including at the Athens Short Film Festival, RODI Festival, Cinema Perpetuum Mobile Festival, Belarus.

After her performance at Pop-Kultur in Berlin, IOTA PHI got mentioned at Musik Express, Spiegel, earned radio play on Radio1 and has since been selected by #INES talent for a number of appearances at their festivals in 2021 and 2022 - https://www.ines-festivals.eu/about-ines/
