"It’s all about going through dark times, feeling on edge…but somehow in the end you find the strength to stand up, fight, and keep on!" Acantha Lang

Acantha Lang’s “River Keep Runnin" was just named Song Of The Month by Soul Tracks. The shimmering piece of modern funk spins struggle into a song of defiance set to a horn-heavy, slamming soul groove.

As London’s best kept soul secret blending Stax-inspired funk with Southern blues, Lang’s 2021 EP debut, Sugar Woman, earned praise from legends like Joe Bonamassa, Robert Elms, and Craig Charles.

Now, the vocal dynamo is working on her first full album due out this summer, and has released its first single “River Keep Runnin’.” Inspired by her mother’s displacement from both Hurricane Betsy and Hurricane Katrina, “River Keep Runnin'” transforms a literal depiction of the flooding that has brought so much devastation to New Orleans — Acantha’s hometown — into a metaphor for the life changing troubles that set out to bring you down.

Enjoy "River Keep Runnin' below.
