Christina Aguilera honoured after Elton John praises Orlando shooting tribute

Christina Aguilera says she is proud to have received praise from Sir Elton John for her recent tribute to the victims of the Orlando gay club shooting.

A total of 49 people were killed by Omar Mateen on June 12 when he burst into the Pulse club and started shooting.

Aguilera soon after released the tribute track 'Change', with proceeds from US downloads going to the National Compassion Fund.

Sir Elton John recently played the song on his Beats 1 radio show and he said it was "beautiful".

In response, Aguilera wrote on Instagram: "@eltonjohn has been a true trailblazer when it comes to fighting for self expression and self love. I am so honored he too is waiting for a #change."
