Christina Aguilera wants to use her body to empower women

Christina Aguilera hopes women find her "empowering".

The vocal star's weight has been picked up by the tabloid press in recent times, with the singer's curves a contrast to her skinny frame of years gone by.

Speaking to The Sun, Aguilera said that she feels comfortable with her body and hopes women can take inspiration from that fact. The Voice USA coach said:

"I'm always in support of someone who is willing and comfortable in their own skin enough to embrace it. Embracing your body is so important, especially as a woman. In this business we are so analysed and judged."

She continued: "It's wonderful to be in a position and have that side of myself that I can latch on to and empower other women."

Aguilera is set to release her new album 'Lotus' on November 12.
