Demi Lovato on Neon Lights tour: 'I was inspired by Beyoncé'

Former Disney beauty Demi Lovato will kick off her Neon Lights tour this week in Vancouver and she revealed that new music videos for some of the songs featured on her tracklisting will premiere on the jaunt.

Speaking to MTV News, she confessed that Beyoncé's concept album was a huge inspiration to her and she wanted to bring a visual aspect into her new live set-up:

"I was also really inspired by Beyoncé, who had a music video for every single song on the album and some of these I had music video ideas for a while and... I'm excited for people to see it."

The tour's creative and musical director, Nick Jonas, added that Lovato was very strong with her direction for how the stage should look and how she wants to bring videos into each performance: "There's a lot of exclusive content for this tour. Demi came to the whole team just on the creative side both video and music. And she said I want to give fans something special for every bit of the show."

Jonas also explained that the tour's tracklisting has been compiled from fans' requests and they will be tweaked to sound more 'now': "What we did, we looked online to what her fans wanted to hear and what she's played on the last couple tours and just said 'Ok these are the songs we should play, how can we reimagine them?' and make them sound like her sound now'. So a lot of these songs aren't even the original arrangements. They've been completely reimagined."
