Demi Lovato criticises Lady Gaga's SXSW performance for 'glamorizing eat disorders'

Demi Lovato has given her verdict on Lady Gaga’s recent performance at SXSW.

During the ‘ARTPOP’ singer’s show as part of the Austin, Texas festival, the artist Millie Brown put her fingers down her throat and vomited paint onto Lady Gaga during the song ‘Swine’ (see video below).

In response to this Demi Lovato – who has suffered with bulimia in the past – took to Twitter to give her thoughts of Gaga and Millie Brown’s antics.

Demi wrote: “Sad… As if we didn't have enough people glamorizing eat disorders already. Bottom line, it's not ‘cool’ or ‘artsy’ at all.”

She continued: “Would you let someone bring a needle and shoot up on you? Addiction is addiction.”

After making these comments the ‘Skyscraper’ star received some negative responses and later defended her views by saying:

“It's not ‘shade’ and it's not ‘hate’. But someone has to come forward and say it and I'll take the heat for it.”

Lovato also directly tweeted Lady Gaga and told her: “@ladygaga you're SO talented, if not one of the most talented in our industry PERIOD. Dope is INCREDIBLE… but you don't have to do that.”
