Demi Lovato gives fans self-worth advice: 'Instead of a swear jar, you could have a jar for insecurities'

'Neon Lights' songstress Demi Lovato has given some words of advice to her fans about how to deal with feeling insecure and suggested a method similar to a 'swear jar'.

During a new interview with Seventeen's August 2014 issue, which she also guest-edited, the beauty explained that every time someone voices an insecurity about themselves they could maybe put a dollar into a jar to see a physical manifestation of the negativity:

"You know how people have swear jars, where if you swear you have to put a dollar in the jar? You could do that with feeling insecure - every time a friend says something bad about (himself/herself), they have to put a dollar in a jar. (And then) you can donate it to charity."

Lovato also warned her followers against sharing tweets and social media updates without thinking the content through first: "Tweeting without thinking does more harm than good. So take a second. Journal what you want to say, and then if you still feel the same later, that's when you can tweet it."
