Demi Lovato to host Lovato Scholarship benefit

'Skyscraper' songstress Demi Lovato has revealed that she wants to put on a benefit to raise money for her Lovato Treatment Scholarship Program.

Speaking about the launch of her scholarship last year, the superstar explained that she wants to give people who can't afford mental health treatment the chance to seek professional help

"The program came about when I lost my birth father. He suffered from mental illness. I believe that it was actually bipolar-schizophrenic, and he didn't have the resources that he needed to get help. In honour of my dad and other people that couldn't afford mental healthcare, I wanted to create a way for people to help others get the help that they need."

Writing on her official Twitter page last night (March 8), the beauty explained that she will announce more details about the proposed event very soon: "I think I have a great idea... I'm going to have my first benefit for the Lovato scholarship. More details to come tomorrow!"
